
At the heart of the Mississippi Delta’s media landscape, Radio Cleveland, Inc. has served our region with dedication and distinction for nearly seven decades. Founded in 1957 with WCLD‑AM, the company was led by George Shurden and backed by ten local investors—each holding a 10% stake. Their mission: to meet a vital community need through local programming and effective advertising.
Our original studio at 602 North Davis Avenue relocated in 1968 to 911 South Davis Avenue, where we proudly continue our operations today.
1970s: Launched WCLD‑FM in Cleveland to expand FM programming.
1984: Acquired WAID‑FM in Clarksdale, extending reach 35–40 miles north.
1990s: Grew into a five‑station group, adding WKDJ‑FM and WMJW‑FM.
2001: Ownership consolidated under Clint Webster, Kevin Cox, and Greg Shurden.
2020: Kevin Cox became sole owner, rebranding to RCI Delta to reflect a regional marketing vision.
2022: Installed a high-impact digital billboard outside our studios—blending radio with visual media.
2025: Evolved into RCI Marketing, offering full-service marketing built on nearly 70 years of experience.
